Memilih Sekolah

Foreign students can enroll in one of five types of institutions of higher learning: universities (undergraduate courses), graduate schools, junior colleges, special training colleges (post-secondary courses) and colleges of technology. Because each student may have a different reason for choosing to study in Japan, you should clarify your objective before selecting a school.

  • Do you want to earn a degree or conduct long-term research?
  • Do you want to acquire proficiency in the Japanese language through study at a Japanese-language institute or preparatory Japanese language courses established by private universities?
  • Do you want to acquire a certain specialized skill?
Once you have clarified your objective, you can then find the educational institute that is most suitable for attaining your goal.

Universities

There are about 765 universities in Japan, including national, public and private ones. The length of study in an undergraduate university is four years with the exception of medicine, dentistry and veterinary science department, which require six years of study.

For information regarding undergraduate courses at specific universities, please refer to the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) web site.

Graduate School

The length of study in a graduate school depends on whether you are matriculated in a master's program or doctor's program.

Master's program: lasts for two years.

Doctor's program: lasts for five years.

Generally, the doctor's program is divided into the first period (two years; applicable to the above-mentioned master's program) and the latter period (three years). However, the length of study for the doctor's program in medicine, dentistry and veterinary science (entered upon after completion of the six-year undergraduate courses in medicine, dentistry or veterinary science) is four years. Some universities offer doctor's programs covering the full five years while others offer only the final three years.

For information regarding specific graduate schools, please refer to the Asian Students Cultural Association web site.

Junior Colleges

The length of study is two years or three years depending on the department. The majority of department are those related to home economics, humanities, education and sociology.

Special Training Colleges

Special training schools that offer post secondary courses are called special training colleges. Such schools are positioned as higher educational institutions in Japan. They provide vocational education as well as education in the skills, technology and knowledge needed in life. The length of study is one year or more, but most courses are two years in length.

For information regarding special training colleges, please refer to the Metropolitan Tokyo Professional Institution Association web site.

Serunai wajah mungil dan Kuasa Bunda

Wajah kecil mungil itu terus membayangi jiwa kebapakanku
Mengiring alir semangat terus dan terus……
Tangisan pagi….dini hari menyeru lail ayah dan ibu…..
Retorika kebahasaan paduan simungil dan ibu menggugah semangat diri
Sungguh analogi erat , menyimpan ribu hikmah

Teduh canda kecerian kecil meruang bahasa batin
Penyejuk kelelahan hati disela ricuh dunia.
Merebah segala peluh kala simungil dalam dekap
Ia pun polos
Meraba janggut
Memandangi wajah sang ayah begitu lugu
Bercakap jua penuh semangat walau ayah pekat bingung mengartikan
Bercanda ia kembali
Mengorek semangat ayahanda dari lelah bekerja menantang hari

Tulisan ini aku hadiahkan Buat abu mahdi….
Senyuman mahdi adalah do'a pemompa semangatmu
……..
Semangat
Do'a
Harapan …yang tulus penuh arti

Bandara hati

Ketika ibu
Ku
Menyambut kedatanganku dibandara kasih

Menutup rapat
Bahkan memendam dalam itu semua

Andailah belum mampu memanis kata dihadapnya
Dia sang pemilik hati…….

Menyapa Tuhan

Tuhan
Aku sering lupa
Aku sering sia
Aku seiring alpa

Untuk ibu yang terlampau lelah menimang menggendongku
Member perdu sedang dia harus menghirup mengkudu
Yang menjadi kakiku kala sakitku
Menjadi tanganku kala payahku
Sungguh aku tidak mampu member apa
Aku hanya meminta dan menguras pikirnya
Aku dzalim padanya
Disaat Engaku perintah berhidmat wajib adanya
Betapa
Aku hanya diam
Aku hanya jauh
Aku hanya hampa
Aku……
Hanya terliput bahasa

Tuhan …..
Beri aku kemudahan
Untuk berlaku baik layaknya ibuku pinta
Menjadi sosok shalih seperti ibu cita

Mungkin bisa
Buat dia sedikit tersenyum
Buat dia sedikit lega
Buat dia seddikit berkurang kecewa

Tuhan…
Didik aku lisanku
Hingga tidak keluar kebohongan darinya
Tak pernah hati menjadi sakit mendengarnya
Tak terjerumus orang karenanya
Jangan jadikan ia pemikat
Biarlah biasa saja.

Tuhan
Jadikan sejarah Nabi-nabi-Mu pelecut gerakku
Ujudkan Rasul sang teladan pemompa niatan hati

Bermunajat pada-Mu
Dan mudah diri
Mendekat-Mu

Tuhan
Sungguh hati mudah berubah
Sangat cepat berbalik arah
Tanpa ada tali penjagaan anugrah-Mu

Tuhan
Hingga kini
Terlampau banyak titipan-Mu
Teramat besar karunia
Yang harus aku pertangggung jawab
kala mati sudah menjelang leher

Tuhan andai aku bertemu utusan-Mu
Pasti aku tersipu, tertunduk
Malu

Aku belum meng-aku
Aku belum menjadi aku (seharusnya aku)
Menjadi aku yang bersandar utuh
Aku yang sebenarnya hanya hamba
Aku yang hina
Aku yang bukan apa

Tuhan
Tolonglah aku
Bimbing aku
Didik aku
Datangkan penasihat-Mu

Tuhan……bersimpuh sujudku
Pada kebesaran-MU

Mengajari Anak Membaca: Sebuah Seni

Saya bilang, "De, kalau B ditambah A dibacanya BA, C ditambah A dibacanya CA, dan D ditambah A jadi DA". Lalu saya tes dia untuk membaca tiga suku kata itu sekaligus BA CA DA. Entah mengapa dia jadi tertawa.

Begitulah saya melihat: Mengajar Anak-anak Membutuhkan Seni tersendiri.
